IDM and the Right I
Today's poem:
It doesn't matter
No, it really doesn't
You only think it does
Because of your commie lib cousin
Today's thoughts:
The question for cons on the State BOE was how to do what they really wanted, undermine evolution by introducing ID, and still make it appear they had a fair inquiry into things and only then decided old Chuck Darwin's pet theory had a few flaws. ("We'll give the boy a fair trial. Bury him right after we do!")
What they hit on was hearings, honest-to-gosh hearings, complete with Power Point presentations, experts and media. It was almost as much fun for the cons as watching the rodeo and not as fattening as a nut fry.
(For those non-Kansans out there, at nut frys, certain parts of neutered bulls and boars are...Well, yes. And they are tasty.)
To show you how fair it was, the BOE appointed a subcommittee of three to conduct the hearings and not one person on that subcommittee opposed the teaching of intelligent design, not one!
So when those evolutionists saw how fair it was going to be, they decided to boycott the circus. I mean the hearings.
But the ACLU, those commies, got a Cuban-born lawyer to take the losing, I mean, the pro-evolutionary side.
Heading the pro-ID team was John Calvert, president of the Discovery Institute and a lawyer.
Yes, Calvert is a lawyer but not one licensed by Kansas. I thought you had to be licensed by any state to practise law in it, didn't you?
Calvert set me straight by saying: "It doesn't matter."
It does not matter? How could he say that?
Oh, ye naive souls. To the right, facts, if they contradict what it holds dear, no longer matter.
We know, for example, we contribute to global warming and there are things we could do to alleviate the problem. But studies that back this up are called junk science. In other words, they do not matter.
In coming posts, IDM and Iraq, IDM and Sheehan and IDM and the collapse of the Right.
It will happen so...
...Keep hoping!
