Jack, All Saints and Faith

Poem:
I am but a child
A child of God
And by that tought
How can I not be awed?
These are my thoughts on November 1, 2005, All Saints Day.
What is a saint? One definition is a child of God. Now we know that children are not perfect, nor are saints. But good children...
Oh, whatever! Hey, the cute guy in green is my grand nephew John Orion "Jack" Rundle. When he was born, Jack weighed 11 lbs, 2 oz. That's a big boy! God bless his mama!
I'd like to be a dad; I really would. My parish, technically a college parish, has a lot of young families. I used to see small kids as a nusiance. But lately, their beauty makes my heart ache. I saw this girl today at Mass. She was maybe ten and very
sweet.
Children should be that way. If I have kids, I'm selling my TV. And my car will not have a DVD player. My kids can look out at the real world or read.
I guess good children are trusting and innoncent. I'd like to believe I was like that once. I am trying to be trusting but my innonence is gone.
I'd like to see innonence in a face that had my eyes or nose. I'd like to be a dad, a father and still a child of God.
Keep hoping!
